Is this online Markdown viewer free?
Yes, completely free — no sign-up, no limits. It's the companion web tool of mdpeek, the desktop Markdown viewer for Windows and macOS.
Is my Markdown uploaded to a server?
No. Rendering happens entirely in your browser with JavaScript — your text never leaves your device. You can even disconnect from the internet after the page loads and it keeps working.
Can I open a local .md file without installing anything?
Yes — drop the file onto the input area or use the Open button, and it renders instantly. One caveat: browsers can't load images referenced by local paths. For regular reading, the free mdpeek desktop app is faster: double-click any .md file and it opens rendered, local images included.
What Markdown features are supported?
